Terms & Conditions
While we endeavour to ensure all content on this site is correct, we cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies or incorrect information taken from third party websites. This site is the property of Yarnell Vintners Limited and you may not copy or distribute any of the content of this site without our prior written permission.
We have a minimum order of £150 (including VAT, excluding delivery).
All wines are sold ex-Vinotheque, Burton-upon-Trent, UK. On receipt you should inspect goods immediately, in the presence of the delivery agent, and notify us of any breakages or shortages straight away. We regret that we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage once the goods have been signed for, or if you request wines to be left in your absence.
Full details of our delivery charges can be found on our 'delivery information' page.
Duty and VAT
All wines are available for delivery duty paid following payment of duty and VAT at the prevailing rates. Some wines are available for transfer under bond to a suitable storage facility and are not subject to duty and VAT.
Quality, replacements and refunds
We operate under strict guidelines relating to provenance, condition and storage, so problems relating to quality rarely occur. Condition reports for older wines are available on request, usually with photographs, and wines are sold as seen. We regret we cannot offer a refund or replacement for corked or out of condition wines.
For wines bought online, you may cancel your order and receive a full refund for the cost of the wine, up to seven working days beginning from the day after your order is delivered. To cancel, you must notify us by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Following cancellation of an order, you are responsible for returning the wine in good condition to us and any delivery costs involved, and you will be refunded following inspection of the wine.
We accept credit cards (1.5% surcharge), debit cards and bank transfer payments from UK based customers.
Wines purchased en primeur must be paid by bank transfer.
All payment charges must be paid by the customer, including UK charges on international payments.
Wines will not be delivered or released for collection until payment has been received in full. For non payment within the term specified, we reserve the right to cancel and charge a fee of 30% of the amount outstanding. We will apply interest to any overdue amounts at 8% over the current Bank of England base rate from the date payment was due.
We use Sage Pay to collect and process transaction information. To access their security policy, go to www.sagepay.co.uk/policies/security-policy. We carry out credit card checks on every order we receive. For the protection of all our customers, we will cancel any order that fails these checks. If an order is shown to be fraudulent, we will inform the police and cancel any further orders traced to that customer.
We will not be liable for failure to meet agreed obligations due to prevailing circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
All contracts are subject to English law and jurisdiction. All wines are offered subject to market movement and remaining unsold.
Nothing in these terms and conditions, limits or excludes your statutory rights as a consumer.
